I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who attended the FSANL Annual Health and Safety Conference held on April 20, 2016 in Corner Brook. The conference was a great opportunity for industry stakeholders to gather, network, and participate in the information sessions provided. Our conference continues to grow as attendance numbers reached 100 delegates this year. This goes to show that the industry takes safety seriously and is taking an interest in their safety culture.

     Kathryn presented on the Early and Safe Return to Work (ESRTW) program, how it works, and how it relates to our everyday work situations. Don Cluett and Rick Donato shared a personal injury story and how it relates to ESRTW.

Sherry Dean - Retired Registered Nurse
     Sherry discussed positive attitudes in the workplace and the benefits of positive thinking.

Roy Foster
     Roy discussed the fundamentals of COR™ for a company.

Cathy Sturge - Senior Health and Safety Advisor in Education and Training, WorkplaceNL
     Cathy presented on what is required of a supervisor on the jobsite.

Peter McGillRoadpost Eastern Regional Sales Manager
     Peter discussed how to protect employees working alone – An introduction to the GeoPro Lone Worker Safety Solution and the options available to address duty of care responsibilities and safety for lone workers regardless of their location.

Christine Doucet and Shawn Street - Bay of Islands Search and Rescue (BOISAR)                                                    
     Here the BOISAR team discussed search and rescue techniques they execute when called out to aid in an emergency situation.

Jan Michaelsen - Research Leader Transport and Energy, FPInnovations
     Jan discussed new safety innovations in the forest sector.
